Getting started

• How do I open a Final Cut Pro library?

  Drag and drop the library onto the app window, or use ⌘O. You can also Control-click the library in the Finder and choose Open With > iFCP Inside.

• Will my editing projects be affected?

  No. iFCP Inside only deletes temporary or regenerable files. Your timeline, cuts, effects, and original media stay intact.

• What is the difference between the two presets?

  Editing in Progress mainly deletes render files, without modifying projects. Editing Complete also deletes analyses (Optical Flow, Stabilization…), transcoded media, and backups. Designed to archive a finished project without preventing you from resuming work later.

• Can Final Cut Pro regenerate deleted files?

  Yes, for most folders: render files, transcoded media, and analyses are recreated. The only exception is VideoSegmentationFiles (Magnetic Masks): iFCP Inside never selects it by default, because that would require redoing the selections and analyses, which could change how your projects look.

Troubleshooting

• The delete button is grayed out.

  The library is open in Final Cut Pro. Close it in FCP, then return to iFCP Inside: the button unlocks automatically.

• iFCP Inside cannot access my external volume.

  Click the Allow Access button, then confirm.

• No folders appear after analysis.

  The library may already be cleaned, or every deletable folder is empty. This can happen after a recent cleanup in Final Cut Pro (File > Delete Generated Library Files).

• The cache is not detected.

  Make sure the volume that contains the cache is mounted and that iFCP Inside has permission to access it. The link to the cache is stored in the library and can become invalid if the cache was moved, renamed, or deleted manually.

System requirements

• macOS 14.6 Sonoma or later

  iFCP Inside analyzes libraries in .fcpbundle format and does not need Final Cut Pro to be installed.

• Final Cut Pro 10.2.3 and later libraries

  Libraries created with Final Cut Pro 10.1 or earlier are not recognized. Open them once in a recent version of Final Cut Pro to update them.

Privacy

iFCP Inside runs entirely offline. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal or usage data. No analytics, no tracking, no ads. The app only accesses the Final Cut Pro libraries and associated files you select.

Purchases

iFCP Inside is a paid app on the Mac App Store. Purchases are handled directly by Apple: FelsWare does not collect or store any payment information.
